Services Week is back 29 June to 3 July 2026 and the theme this year is personalised public services. Effective public services emerge from innovative thinking, a clear understanding of what people need, and working closely across teams and specialisms. This week provides the community opportunity to explore the connections between services providers and the communities they support to improve public services.
Are you a digital and data professional in the public sector? Services Week brings people together to share, learn and collaborate, exploring how technology powered services and stronger community connections can improve public services.
If you want to add a session to this year’s Services Week complete the session proposal survey by the deadline of 19 June. You can also see how the programme is shaping up below.
What is Services Week?
Now in its eighth year, Services Week is a yearly event hosted by the Government Digital and Data community, bringing people from different areas across the public sector together to share best practice and learn from one another, all with the aim of improving public services. You can read more about Services Week here.
Last year there were over 90 sessions from 35 different organisations and approximately 7500 people dialled into events over the week. Services Week has significant reach across the public sector. It is an important part of the calendar for lots of service teams across government. This year we want to make it bigger and better than ever, and we need your help to do that.
Why take part?
This year’s Services Week focuses on personalising public services. The theme reflects our ambition to enable more joined up services, ones that cross departmental or organisational boundaries but feel seamless to the user.
Supporting this kind of joined up delivery is at the heart of Services Week, and we are really looking forward to seeing the sessions you have in store. We welcome those that embrace this theme, as well as sessions focused more broadly on designing high-quality experiences and showcasing the excellent work your teams are delivering.
Services Week is a fantastic opportunity to:
- get inspired by what’s happening across the public sector by learning how others are using emerging technologies and designing new public services
- stay up to date with the latest service design trends and ideas shaping our work
- grow your network by meeting counterparts in other organisations and connecting with colleagues across different disciplines
- increase awareness of your team’s work, and get valuable feedback to support ongoing development
- share your experiences and best practice, with sessions ranging from 20‑minute lightning talks to deeper dives and demos
